Hello,I'm trying to install centos 6.3 on my laptop from my hard drive because my cd/dvd rom can't read dvds but reads cds. I'm using the CentOS-6.3-i386-netinstall.iso t... [by whatif]
I'm not sure if this is a software or hardware issue.
I'm currently running CentOS 6.3 x86_64 and I want to completely rebuild this machine to CentOS 5.9 x86_64. That being said, what happens is I insert the CentOS 5.9 DVD and reboot the machine. It reads the DVD going through the normal process and after I hit the Enter key selecting a normal graphical install.
I'm running XenServer on an Dell R610 and am running into a catch-22. During install from DVD, CentOS can't find the DVD package catalogue. It's a reported error for some, XenServer + CentOS6 + DVD install in some hardware configurations = failed install. Yes, I checked the MD5 and let the disc test pass.
