Hi all. Im on an Aspire One (ZG5). Im trying to install 9.10RC on this thing, but every time I get to the same point in the install then failure. I get:
[Errno 5]: Input/Output Error
Im trying to install ubuntu 12.04 LTS on my desktop (Dell E521)
I ran DBAN before this and i think it might have something to do with it. When i go to install Ubuntu i get a error saying
"The following file does not match its source copy on the CD/DVD:
/target/lib/firmware/ar9170-1.fw

This is often due to a faulty hard disk. It may help to check whether the hard disk is old and in need of replacement, or to move the system to a cooler environment.

I am facing an error during installation of current version of ubuntu ( 12.04 LTS and 12.10) on 64 Bit SONY Vaio SR46SD system.
I have two sata hard disk installed in my desktop. When i try to install ubuntu in /dev/sda it shows an error at the end of installation process. Error: "I/O or faulty hard disk or faulty medium" something like this.
I tried to install with several ubuntu cd/dvd, all shows the same error. I have successfully installed fedora on the same partition.
I downloaded a copy of fedora yesterday and stuck the disk in, i only booted it, something was wrong with the disk or something but i gave me an error everytime i clicked "install to hard drive" but anyways, so i took the disk out and booted back into vista, first off, it went to the screen saying vista needs to check for errors and couldn't fix the problem and shut down, then i started

I've installed Ubuntu 12.04.1 Desktop AMD 64 on a new set of hardware - new HDD, motherboard, RAM, etc. Upon restarting after the clean install, I'm seeing the following glaring message: "Read Error".
I am running 12.04 live from cd and trying to copy some important files from a mounted hard disk to an external disk.
