I have SANE and SANE-scanner installed in my Ubuntu 12.04 box. I have an Epson V500 flatbed scanner, tied by USB to my machine. On my network I also have an HP All-in-One that has scanner functionality. Both are detected by the computer as scanners. I want to always use the Epson scanner but can't find a way to tell SANE-scanner to use the (second listed) Epson scanner.
I recently upgraded from 12.04 to 12.10 and since then I havent gotten my scanner to work.
The latest iscan-packages are installed and sane seems to find my scanner but despite that the following error messages appears in xsane and iscan.
Code:
sane-find-scanner

Hello,
Ever since I switched to Ubuntu 12.04 the scanner on my Epson Stylus NX230 won't work. At the same time I started running lUbutntu because the regular version is too fancy for my crappy old computer. The scanner used to work when I had whatever version I had before, but now when I try to scan an image using either Scanner Utility or Simple Scan it says no scanner is connected.
I would buy this scanner (Epson Perfection V30). I know it works with proprietary drivers and for me it's ok if they work good.
I'd like to know if you recommend it as my new scanner.
Does The Image Scan application have all the XSane features?
My Epson Perferction 2400 Photo usb-scanner dont operate in Precise. The scanner is founded and in snapscan, conf the backend eswf41.bin writed, but with negative results. I have tried also to start the scanner with epkowa.conf without any positive results. What to do?
Below you can download the scanner driver for Epson Stylus NX515 multifunction printer series. This is the Epson NX515 scanner driver version 3.76 available for Windows 7, Xp and Vista. This file contains the Epson Stylus NX510 Series EPSON Scan Utility and Scanner Driver (TWAIN) v3.76.
This is my first post; I've been using ArchLinux as my only OS for just over a year, and prior to that used Linux Mint since eschewing MicroSoft products sometime in 2008.I performed an update recently which included systemd package, which I think may be related to the issue as the problem began only after the update.
I decided to try the 64 bit version of 12.04
I have gone through the driver install procedures that have worked for the 32 bit OS but can't seem to find the reason why Xsane and Simple scan don't see my scanner.
The scanner is a Brother MFC3220C.
sane-find-scanner seems to find the device:
Code:
paul@paul-P5K-SE:~$ sane-find-scanner
# sane-find-scanner will now attempt to detect
Hi all,
Im considering buying a scanner.
