The concept of the right-click context menu has been around since forever but you don't have to be content with the defaults that come with your software, especially file managers. KDE's Dolphin and Konqueror are no exceptions.
I'm using the RSS News plasmoid and usually have Firefox open anyway. When I click on an RSS item it opens in Firefox as it should but I also get a Konqueror tab in the Task Manager and a bouncing Konqueror cursor, though Konqueror itself never opens. I have made Firefox my default application for http in Personal Settings, is there another place where Konqueror might linger as a default browser?
After one of the recent upgrades of my Debian Testing the default file manager in KDE switched from Dolphin to Konqueror for some reason. How can I switch it back?
I really want to like Dolphin. It seems like it's very versatile as a file manager and would work great once I learn how to take advantage of it.
But I can't, it keeps crashing!
When a .desktop file is clicked on in dolphin, instead of the URL being used in Konqueror, some cache file is used. The file is apparently a copy of the page pointed to by the URL.
I've recently installed OpenSUSE 12.1, and I have a problem with KMail and Konqueror - they display Hebrew backwards, in LTR instead of RTL.
In my previous OS, Ubuntu 11.10, RTL support worked out of the box for those applications.
Setting the encoding manually does not work.
I'm trying to find a way of looking at my list of mp3, flac, ogg music files for the bitrate on each one. I was hoping that my default file manager of Nautilus would allow me to add a separate column to display it for each file. It does not.
I have since tried - Thunar, Pcmanfm, Dolphin, Krusdaer, Konqueror looking for the above capability - I can't seem to find it.
PCMan File Manager (PCManFM) is a file manager application developed by Hong Jen Yee from Taiwan which is meant to be a replacement for Nautilus, Konqueror and Thunar. Released under the GNU General Public License, PCManFM is free software. PCManFM is the standard file manager in LXDE, which is also developed by the same author in conjunction with other developers.
After installing 11.2, the Konqueror scrolling action tends to jump instead of scrolling smoothly. Is there somewhere I can adjust this? I couldn't find anything under Konqueror "settings" for File Manager.
Thanks.
