As the title sez...I require some help getting Japanese input working in #!Crunchbang.I have downloaded the gnome-base-ja packages from the repository.
I recently upgrade to Fedora 18 and I am a bit confuse by the input language and keyboard layout.
It seem the keyboard layout is linked to the input language, I have a japanese keyboard and I have
configured 3 input methods
* English (US)
* Japanese (Anthy)
* Japanese (Japanese(OADG 109A))
When I switch to "English (US)" I get the classic QWERTY key mapping,

I've installed iBus and ibus-mozc, an input method engine of Japanese, from the repository, and attempted to enable mozc from Preference > "Input Method" tab > "Select Input Method" combo box.
However, there is no choice to select, so I couldn't enable mozc.
I also tried ibus-anthy, another legacy Japanese input method, but the situation was the same and I couldn't use anthy.
This problem is als
I found the problem.These lines of code in my ".xinit" file that allow me to enter Japanese text were the problem:# Setup SCIM for Japanese input
export XMODIFIERS=@im=SCIM
export GTK_IM_MODULE="scim"
export QT_IM_MODULE="scim"
scim -f x11 -c simple -dI'll comment them out for now. Lately I reconfigure Openbox much more often than I type Japanese.
So, I have two things I can't seem to figure out. I'm using the current stable release of CrunchBang.I want my tint2 panel to be behind maximized windows...I've tried both the panel_layer and autohide methods, and neither seem to work. I know the tint2 panel on Statler does this with no problem...How can I just upgrade to that version of tint2?Secondly, I'm trying t
Hello.
I'm tri-language myself and can't configure ibus in recently installed Beefy Miracle.
I'm using RU+EN+JP (Anthy) and whenever i switch from RU to JP, ibus doesn't catch my input so i can't type japanese. This is probably bug in ibus, but here is more:
Then i try to remove layouts other than Anthy in ibus-setup, settings resets back to default (all using languages) after relogin.
It sounds like you're trying to setup Japanese input like how I have it. I'm a little busy at the moment, but I have a quick question: Are you switching from "normal" to "Japanese" input by pressing CTRL + Spacebar?

hi all,
i am new here and i am new in using Fedora 11. I work in a company and the client requested the Settings in Fedora 11 to S-JIS. So i am assuming he meant the encoding type.
I am a native Spanish speaker and also Speak Japanese. I have installed Anthy to be able to input Japanese and it works properly in the applications that are native from Ubuntu, and it also works properly in Skype and aMsn... However, when I want to type in Spanish on either Skype or aMsn the accents do not show up properly.
