So I was going to post the following question because the "Enable Wireless" wasn't working. Instead, I figured out he accidentally turned the wireless switch off (Fn+F2).
I recently installed Ubuntu 10.4 on my new Dell Studio 1558. After installing the broadcom proprietary driver for my wireless card, the wireless for my laptop worked fine.
I have new System 76 Pangolin laptop. When Ubuntu first installed, wireless worked fine. I could see the internet and the wireless-attached printer on my Linksys home network. After a day or so, wireless no longer works. It is not a home network problem, because several other laptops on the same network work fine. Seems like my wifi card (Realtek rtl819xSE) is no longer powered on?
Hello everyone I am new to ubuntu. Installed 12.10 a couple weeks ago but was getting a system error msg regularly. something to do with the display. wireless worked great. So I looked into the 12.04 LTS. In the process i found edubuntu. Since I have two kids i chose to go with Edubuntu 12.04 LTS. I downloaded the .iso. burned it on DVD and ran it.
I'm running Ubuntu 11.04 latest updates on a HP G50 laptop. It was working fine but would never auto connect to wireless.
I would have to select the wireless from the top menu and connect to a network. However I disabled it once and tried to re-enable but ran into a problem.
my wireless driver is downloaded and installed(i think) but on the wireless icon it does not have anything for wireless connections on it. help asap:confused::(
i can clarify. there is no mention of the word wireless in the connections dropdown. i am using a dell inspiron e1501 and 12.04. please help.
Since I installed Ubuntu 12.04 on my computer I haven't used a wireless internet connection since it seems my Wireless interface card is not enable(absent) also the firmware is not enlightened. I would have this problem solved.I am not so familiar with Ubuntu Operating systems.
Thanks in advance
confused:
I'm having issues setting up Wireless for Ubuntu 12.04. I have my wireless card plugged in and from my knowledge, Ubuntu can read it, but, I can't enable wireless.
Whenever I try and turn off Airplane Mode or when I'm in the menu for Networking at the top of the screen and click "Enable Wireless", my computer freezes.
Anyone know what may be causing this issue?
Heya,
I've just managed to get hold of a friend's old laptop and I thought this'd be a great way to try out Ubuntu.
I've installed 10.04 on a HP 510 laptop with an Intel 2200BG [Calexico2] Wireless card installed.
