Elementary OS Luna beta 1 is a Linux distribution I previewed just a few days ago. See Elementary OS Luna preview. It is a revamped desktop distribution based on Ubuntu Desktop.
The first beta edition of what will become Elementary OS Luna has been released. Luna is a bold attempt to revamp and completely retool Jupiter, the distribution’s first edition.

Il modello di rilascio “When it’s ready” che gli sviluppatori di elementary hanno deciso di adottare per la seconda release di questo attesissimo sistema operativo libero aveva persino portato qualcuno ha etichettare come vaporware elementaryOS Luna.
Well, the Elementary devs are not going to release their own Luna in the foreseeable future--they are saying that their distro is not like any other and it must be without bugs to come out.
They even said, if I move Luna Beta 1 to Quantal and/or Raring, I would get updates etc.
So, I took the challenge and build "their" Luna with Quantal mini.iso and with their Quantal applications.
I've been using Luna daily build for sometime, so I knew what to expect, when Beta 1 was released, except the beautiful greeter and the default wallpaper.
Once, I downloaded and installed the Luna Beta 1, I did my usual thing--upgraded it to Raring direct from Precise, by passing the transit Quantal.
I installed Calibre, so I could read a book, while Apt did its work.
Elementary OS is a fast and beautiful distro that focuses on simplicity and minimalism.
Official set of wallpapers for Elementary OS Luna has been chosen. The selection is pretty great and it features some really beautiful backgrounds for your desktop.

Il team di Canonical come da programma ha rilasciato la seconda beta release di Ubuntu 12.10 che porta con se un aggiornamento totale dei pacchetti della distribuzione, mancano pochi giorni infatti al rilascio della stable release della distribuzione Linux più famosa al mondo che è previsto per il 18 ottobre.
Ubuntu 12.10 Beta 2 porta con se anche un notevole lavoro di bufixing con un incremento
