ELC and OSCON seek conference submissions

O'Reilly has opened up a call for participation for its Open Source Convention (OSCON) 2011, to be held on July 25-29 at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, Oregon. Meanwhile, the Linux Foundation's Consumer Electronics Linux Forum (CELF) announced that its Embedded Linux Conference (ELC) will be held April 11-13 in San Francisco....

O'Reilly announces early registration for OSCON, OSCON Data, and OSCON Java is now open. OSCON Data and OSCON Java are scheduled for July 25-27, while OSCON runs the entire week of July 25-29, 2011, at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland.

The O'Reilly Open Source Convention (OSCON) has posted sessions and keynotes for its annual conference. Scheduled for July 19-23 in Portland, OSCON features keynote speakers including Google's Chris DiBona, Facebook's David Recordon, and Canonical's Simon Wardley, with embedded sessions covering topics such as Android, MeeGo, Marvell's Plug Computer, and the BeagleBoard....

At the OSCON 2010 open source convention taking place in Portland, Oregon, O'Reilly Media's Edd Dumbill has announced the winners of this years O'Reilly Open Source Awards. The awards have been presented each year since 2005 to individuals for their "dedication, innovation, leadership and outstanding contribution to open source".

O'Reilly Media opened registration for its Android Open Conference, scheduled for Oct. 9-11, in San Francisco, and announced speakers from companies including Arduino, Adobe, BestBuy, Google, Intel, LinkedIn, Motorola, Twitter, and WalMart. Meanwhile, the 10th annual Southern California Linux Expo (SCALE 10x) has issued a call for papers for its Jan. 20-22, 2012 show in Los Angeles....

The Consumer Electronics Linux Forum (CELF) announced a call for papers for the next Embedded Linux Conference Europe (ELCE), scheduled for Oct. 27-28 in Cambridge, UK. CELF is looking for a variety of technical presentations focused on the use of embedded Linux in consumer electronics products....

The CE Linux Forum (CELF) is once again sponsoring a free technical demonstration room for embedded open source projects at this year's Embedded Linux Conference (ELC) on Apr. 13 in San Francisco. Demonstrations should cover embedded technology that offers software available under GPL or LGPL compatible licenses, says CELF....

The Linux Foundation posted a calendar of its 2012 conferences, starting with the Android Builders Summit Feb. 13-14, co-located in Silicon Valley with the Embedded Linux Conference, Feb. 15-17. The Linux Kernel Summit will be held Aug. 26-28 in San Diego, where it will be co-located with the larger LinuxCon North America event and the Linux Plumbers Conference, both held Aug. 29-31....

The public Call for Participation for Lightning Talks, BoF and Hackfest has officially opened for the 2012 GNOME Users And Developers European Conference (GUADEC [1]) conference.
