I read a couple of posts here about losing wireless support after upgrading but I'm having problems during the initial installation.
I have a Dell Inspiron 1501 I am trying to install Edubuntu 12.04 on. I boot live first of all to connect online but I get a message on the "network" icon stating I need a firmware update.
Just bought an acer aspire one AO751h two weeks ago.
Removed Vista and installed 9.04 immediately.
Worked great.
Wireless was automatic.
Now, no wireless.
Tried on four different wifi's.
The error says there is not wireless signal.
I did nothing as far as the wireless network is concerned.
I did add programs via Synaptic.
I am running Opensuse 11.2. My wireless adapter is a rt2860sta which the system recognized when it was installed. I can configure Wireless using YaST/Network Settings and my wireless works great. My problem is when I reboot I have no wireless. If I go back into Network Settings and edit the wireless connection it works fine, that is until the system is rebooted.
Hi.
I yesterday updated my Pressario V3000 with BCM4311 R1 running Opensuse 10.3 and using ndiswrapper to 11.3 (fresh parition, format, install) and can't get the wireless working.
The strange thing is that I tried the live CD while 10.3 was installed and it worked fine with b43. I have now 11.3 installed and even the live CD no longer works.
I recently installed Ubuntu 10.4 on my new Dell Studio 1558. After installing the broadcom proprietary driver for my wireless card, the wireless for my laptop worked fine.
my wireless driver is downloaded and installed(i think) but on the wireless icon it does not have anything for wireless connections on it. help asap:confused::(
i can clarify. there is no mention of the word wireless in the connections dropdown. i am using a dell inspiron e1501 and 12.04. please help.
Hello,
I did a fresh install of Ubuntu 11.10 on a Macbook 3.1 today. Everything works fine. All of a sudden, my wireless would pick up connections, but not connect to them. Previously, my wireless worked perfectly, even when I used the Live CD.
Other computers connect to the wireless router fine, and even Mac OS X does when I dual boot.
Hi,
I'm having trouble with my wireless. I'm dual booting Windows 7 and Ubuntu 9.10 on a Sony Vaio FW series.
I had gotten the wireless to work before, and it started to not work a couple of weeks ago. The little green button next to my wireless button shows up, so I think it is recognizing it, but it won't detect any wireless connections.
So I was going to post the following question because the "Enable Wireless" wasn't working. Instead, I figured out he accidentally turned the wireless switch off (Fn+F2).
