Hi
I cannot right click with my mouse on the gnome applications menu to get the properties/edit menu option. This is on F12 on 64bit.
Instead I get: "help, remove from panel, lock panel". I dont have this problem with anything else on the top bar.

I'm planning on installing Ubuntu 12.04 on on my main computer soon, but before doing that, I ran it in a virtual machine to see about getting the old Gnome UI on it.
I'm using Ubuntu Precise(12.04) without Unity.
$ sudo apt-get -y install gnome-panel
logout and login selected [GNOME Classic]. Effect is on.
So, can I disable gnome-panel's context menu ?
It is appear Super-Alt-Right Click to top-panel or bottom-panel.
I want fixing my customized menu Icons.
Thanks.
Hi. I keep seeing guides and screenshots referring to accessing "Startup Applications" in 12.04 via the user menu at the end of the top panel. However, like the new "Privacy" app in "System Settings", I never got the updated menu with the upgrade to 12.04, so have to launch it via its command (gnome-session-properties).
How do I rectify this?
When running in Gnome Fallback mode (Gnome Classic) in Ubuntu 12.04, I added the Main Menu to the bottom panel, but I have a problem with the customization of its colors. It is like the old Gnome 2 menu that combined Applications and Places into one.
By default with the Ambiance theme, the menu's background is white when it should match the background of the panel itself.
I have Xubuntu set up so that I get the Applications Menu on Right Click on the Desktop.
I want to modify the menu - so where is the file so that I can edit it?
"Menu Edit" allows me to edit the Applications Menu accessed from the left end of the panel and is not what I want.
TIA
Alan
I suddenly find that my gnome applications panel would appear at the "top" of the screen instead of the "bottom"
So I tried to drag/move it to bottom but I couldn't.

Applications Menu disappeared
I'm using Ubuntu 12.04, classic desktop without effects. Once the indicator-applet-complete (right part of the top panel) had disappeared.
I'm using the "gnome classic" desktop, and I'm having a problem with the "Places" panel menu.
After adding a certain amount of bookmarks to nautilus, the Places menu collapses all bookmarks to "Bookmarks...," but the vertical length of the places menu even with the "Bookmarks" uncollapsed is nowhere near even half of my screen height.
