Edubuntu, the customized version of Ubuntu for educational use that can be used in the classroom, is now at version 12.10 Beta 2, along with its bigger brothers, Ubuntu, Kubuntu, and Xubuntu. Edubuntu 12.10 Beta 2 may have been launched with every other distribution in Canonical's portfolio, but it has no new features or updates in comparison with the previous version.
Following the release of Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS, Canonical has released the Edubuntu 12.04.2 LTS operating system, along with Kubuntu, Mythbuntu, Xubuntu, and Ubuntu Server. Edubuntu 12.04.2 LTS is the second Long Term Support release of the Edubuntu project. Being supported for 5 years, Canonical will keep it alive until April 2017.

Canonical released the Beta 2 Version of Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, it come with many change and improve performance. Ubuntu 13.04 Beta 2 also come with derivative distributions: Kubuntu, Lubuntu, Xubuntu, Ubuntu Server Cloud, Edubuntu, Ubuntu Studio, which have their own development schedule, and the first and only for major version with the new Ubuntu GNOME and Ubuntu Kylin projects.
