I'm planning on purchasing an Eee Netbook after the holidays and want to put linux on it. I've run Ubuntu for a couple years now and really like it but I want to make sure that I get the most out of the netbook. I've been doing some research and I'm not exactly sure what to do.
i tried to install natty narwhal 11.4 on a usb, but when i plug it in to my netbook it just gives me a bunch of folders...no setup file.
but when i tried Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick Meerkat), it worked fine.
I have had ubuntu on my netbook for a while now but i really need windows back on my netbook for one of my classes. I have no idea how to take it off. Every way i have seen so far that takes it off my netbook seems to lead me to another problem. My netbook cant read CD's because there is no CD drive.i just bought windows 7 but all it came with is a code. I really need help.
Dear Master,
I was installed maverick on my 532h netbook one weeks ago.
Everything goes normal, until past few days my netbook fan always spin like it do a hard job in background process. I have check with "top" and system monitor, every process looks normal, nothing weird.
I run Ubuntu on some of my desktop and server machines (where it just works seamlessly). I am NOT a sysadmin by ANY means (I'm a programmer), though, and do not like to futz with hardware/software install issues. Now I want to buy a small netbook writing code, reading PDF papers and so forth on the go. I want to run Ubuntu on my netbook as well (ideally the standard distribution).
PC manufacturer Asus has announced that they are releasing three Eee PC netbook models with Ubuntu pre-installed. The three models that will be available with Ubuntu are the 1001PXD, 1011PX and 1015PX. Asus also announced that they plan make more models available with Ubuntu.
Welcome to Club#!, monica! Have a drink on us.Like you, I started with Linux on a netbook; in my case, it was a Dell netbook that came with "Dellbuntu", which I tired of quickly. I tried a few of the earlier "netbook remixes" before I found CrunchBang, and have been happily using it since the days when it was based on Ubuntu 9.04.
Hello! I am new to the linux community (And linux in general).
I have recently formatted my Acer Aspire One AOD250 Netbook from Windows XP and Installed Ubuntu 10.10 Netbook edition. However, when I attempt to boot Ubuntu, nothing happens! And my Netbook screams in terror every time I press a key (Meaning, it beeps loudly). If anyone can help that would be great...
P.s.
Not sure what is going on..
I have a eeePC netbook 701 and running 8.0.4 ubuntu.
This is what happens.. turn the netbook on, and right after the ubutunu screen loads the netbook just shuts off completely.
any ideas?
I haven't done anything different from the last time the netbook was on
