Hi everybody, this is my first post
i have been struggling lately with tearing both on desktop and video.
I have a xubuntu 12.04 setup with NVIDIA GT610 proprietary driver, TV with HDMI and vga monitor.
it worked perfect with 11.10 and vlc 1.1.X with 60Hz on VGA and 50 Hz on TV.
Now with 12.04 and 2.0.3 vlc i can't have different refresh rates, video get totally messed up, tearing, jerky, out of lipsync.
I have been trying this to no avail. I am a linux newb, so a step by step explanation would be greatly appreciated. I have two video cards, nvidia geforce 8600 gt . I want a monitor to run on each card, so twinview cannot be used because my understanding that is only for single video cards.
I went to the system monitors tab and my second display is detected but disabled.
I am trying to get my refresh rate better than 60 hz
I have tried to edit the xorg and still can not up the refresh rate.
My monitor is a new one so it is capable of high refresh rates.
Do you edit the xorg or the xrandr or both?
Hi all, my monitors refresh rate it benchmarked at 60Hz, i have compiz enabled and use it as my composite manager. In CCSM > General Options > Display Settings. I've set the Texture Filter to Best, pushed up the refresh rate to 100Hz and have enabled Sync to VBlank. This results in perfectly smooth display. My question is; how will this affect my hardware? ie.
I have a dual monitor system and after I upgraded to Fedora 12 last week the secondary monitor no longer works and has been constantly reporting the following:
OUT OF RANGE
78.0kHz / 84Hz
Both displays are visible via gnome-display-properties.
Here is my current setup:
Hey all,
I just installed Kubuntu 12.04 on my desktop computer and have been having some trouble setting up dual monitors.
The good news is I've managed to get them working, more or less. However, every time I boot up the computer, the main screen (X or whatever it is in kubuntu) is on the monitor on my left instead of the one on my right.
I'm running Kubuntu 12.04 with the AMD proprietary video driver. I have a Radeon HD 6700 Series card with 3 monitors. One of the monitors is larger and physically placed in the middle. I want it to be the primary monitor.
However, dialogs and various notifications always come up on the left-most monitor. Even the KDM login appears on this monitor.
Hey all, Im having issues getting 3 monitors up on my fresh install. Here is what I have. Evga 780i mobo with 2 9800GTX's. The Main monitor is 21" and is hooked up to GPU 0 and is located in the middle of 2, 19" monitors which are on GPU 1.
