Hey there, I installed Linux Mint in a dual boot with 12.04. 12.04 was first and then using the partition tool I created a new partition for the Linux Mint, everything loaded up fine and LInux Mint is running smoothly.
Having been a Ubuntu user for a while, I switched to Mint 13 recently. All was well until I had to buy a new PC which had Windows 7 - 64bit installed.
It hasn't taken me long to realise how much I dislike it. So I thought I would dual boot using Mint 14 along side Windows 7. I used the Mint 14- 64 bit iso disc and got as far as the Linux Mint desktop. Everything worked great from the CD.
Hi
I have a PC on which Mint was installed as a dual boot option with Ubuntu. The Mint installation didn't work properly and hangs on the logon screen. How can I get rid of it and the dual boot option and revert back to Ubuntu only?
Thanks
hello all,
well , I made a real bonehead move today. I had pc set up to boot Mint, Ubuntu and win7. Ubuntu and Win7 on a SSD and Mint on seperate 1 TB HD , I also have a 2TB storage drive.
Here's the deal. I have Xubuntu dual boot with Windows and everything is fine but I wanted to try Mint 12 so I installed it on my USB stick (DVD too) and when I reboot, it goes into the menu where I choose Linux Mint, Compatibility Mode, etc.
I've dual booted Mint and Windows 7, but I'd really like to get rid of Windows all together. And from what I understand, it's not really a true dual boot, but it's actually just running from inside Windows.
So I was wondering if there was a way to install Mint on a blank SSD (in an external enclosure), so I can just later swap it for my HDD.
And if this isn't possible, please explain why.
i have a problem, i have dual boot system with windows 7 and ubuntu. i decided to try out linux mint. but after a while i removed it by deleting it´s partition. when i restarted, the bootloader didn´t work anymore. i reinstalled linux mint so that i could use my pc again. but i really want to remove mint from my system. is there a way to delete mint and still be able to boot in to ubuntu ?
I am running Linux-mint 13 with XFCE. When I drag a window to the side of the screen it snaps to the side and fills up that vertical half of the screen.
This is great, but I have two graphics cards so I can have two monitors. I can't drag a window from one monitor to the other because it snaps to the side of the the first screen.
my Linux Mint 13 64bit (which is based on Ubuntu 12.04) is not working right.
After installation, it seemed snappy, I checked Firefox and everything seemed fast. Now, after I installed all the updates, it is as slow as I remember it from Ubuntu 12.04 (unity desktop). I tried Linux Mint 13 because I thought it might be desktop dependent, but this does not seem to be the case.
