As everyone knows, the international HTC One X has the NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor and to make things work with LTE, they created the HTC One XL that is essentially the same phone, but with the dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4. This is essentially what is available on AT&T, but marketed as the One X, a little confusing I know. Now Samsung did the same thing with their Galaxy S III.
Nvidia’s next-generation mobile processor could be a 72-core graphics powerhouse, according to leaded specs reportedly uncovered by Chinese site Chiphell. We finally got some official news surrounding the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2‘s availability, and whether or not it will come equipped with a dual-core or quad-core processor. When we first heard about the new slate from Samsung we couldn’t help but think that is wasn’t a very big improvement over the original Galaxy Tab 10.1, sporting only a 1GHz dual-core processor.
Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang confirmed his company is building quad-core Tegra 3 processors for new Nexus tablets or smartphones running the upcoming Android & Ice Cream Sandwich& operating system. Nvidia has outed its next-gen Tegra 4 mobile CPU at CES. As expected, the chip packs 72 GPU cores, offering a 6x bump on the Tegra 3′s graphics processing performance — to make the most of higher resolution displays — along with the first quad-core ARM Cortex-A15, to boost web browsing speed by 2.6x and deliver improved app performance.
When it comes to multicore processors, if the frequency is rated as 3GHz, does that mean it is 3 GHz per core or 3 GHz divided by the number of cores.
Like in the title, for a 3 GHz dual core, would it be 3 GHz per core or 3 GHz / 2 cores = 1.5 GHz per core?

It appears Samsung has another SoC known as the Exynos 5210. As pictured above, Linux dev tools were committed to a smdk5210 at Free-electrons.com. Unfortunately we don’t have much to go on, but it very well could be a quad-core that features the same big.LITTLE technology that’s in the Exynos Octa-core 5410.
