http://forums.fedoraforum.org – I recently installed linux and windows XP on two seperate hard drives and I'm having difficulty dual booting. My menu.lst looks like this: #boot=/dev/sda default=0 timeout=10 splashimage=(hd0,0)/grub/splash.xpm.gz ##hiddenmenu title Fedora (2.6.31.5-127.fc12.i686) root (hd0,0) kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.31.5-127.fc12.i686 ro root=/dev/mapper/VolGroup-lv_root noiswmd LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SYSFONT=latarcyrheb-sun16 KEYBOARDTYPE=pc KEYTABLE=us rhgb quiet initrd /initramfs-2.6.31.5-127.fc12.i686.img title Windows XP root(hd1,0) chainloader +1 Disk /dev/sda: 160.0 GB, 160041885696 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 19457 cylinders, total 312581808 sectors Units = sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes Disk identifier: 0x57255725 Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/sda1 * 63 312560639 156280288+ 7 HPFS/NTFS Disk /dev/sdb: 200.0 GB, 200049647616 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 24321 cylinders, total 390721968 sectors Units = sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes Disk identifier: 0x4b36bdea Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/sdb1 * 63 409662 204800 83 Linux Partition 1 does not end on cylinder boundary. /dev/sdb2 409663 390716864 195153601 8e Linux LVM Disk /dev/dm-0: 194.0 GB, 193978171392 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 23583 cylinders, total 378863616 sectors Units = sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes Disk identifier: 0x00000000 Disk /dev/dm-0 doesn't contain a valid partition table Disk /dev/dm-1: 5855 MB, 5855248384 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 711 cylinders, total 11436032 sectors Units = sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes Disk identifier: 0x00000000 Disk /dev/dm-1 doesn't contain a valid partition table Although i'm new to linux, as far as I can tell, Linux is on hd1, however it boots fine from hd0. I'm not sure this is, or how to get windows to dual boot. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. (HowTos)
