Dropped KDM, kept K apps (plenty), now KWallet Manager doesn't start

http://www.linuxquestions.org – Does one have anything to do with the other? Or is it just a matter of a corrupt KWallet and bad (or too few) support files loading at boot? I love smb4k. It's so much better than Nautilus' "Network" and "Connect to server" Places menu options (esp. when the only protocol one uses to file-share is SMB/CIFS). For a short while, it was saying it couldn't find my system password in KWallet. After I found the little cubby-hole in authentication options in smb4k where the app itself keeps a default user name and password, I was idly curious to see what was up (HowTos)
