Is it possible to make android dropbox automatically download changes to a single folder, the way that the desktop version of dropbox does for the entire dropbox folder?
Dropbox is a popular free software that sync files between your desktop pc and laptop. When you installed Dropbox and set the Dropbox folder. All files/subdirectories from the folder are two-way synced to Dropbox server and can be downloaded/synced in another machine with Dropbox Client installed.
I'm trying to set up backup using Dropbox on my server. I got Dropbox installed and it works great. It's currently syncing the whole account and I don't want that. I figured there's an exclude option - but it's not good for me. I'd have to exclude a folder manually every time I create a new irrelevant folder for this specific device (linux server).
I have an officePC (ubuntu 12.04 LTS) which I access from homePC (ubuntu 12.04 LTS) through ssh and I change some remote files in a dropbox folder, but the local dropbox folder doesnt mirror the changes.
I moved 17 full-length movies from my htc phone to my Dropbox account using a desktop in an Internet cafe. I had to download Dropbox in that particular computer b/c it didn't have one, I dragged and dropped the movies and checked it afterwards, it was playing. Since it was a public computer, I uninstalled the Dropbox afterwards.
I assume that if I select for a specific folder not to be synced with my computer anymore I will be able to delete that folder from my dropbox folder(on my computer) without worry of it being deleted from my dropbox account?
On my S5 I have dropbox, and it nicely auto uploads any images taken with the camera to dropbox, so when I power up the PC, they are pulled down to PC.
I'm going to use the Sd card fitted to it to back up DSLR RAW files (so not recognised as images) to a folder on a holiday trip I'm doing, and I want those to sync up to dropbox.
Is this possible without installing yet another app like dropsync?
I would think that installing nautilus-dropbox would allow me to add files to my Dropbox folder, and if an internet connection is present, automatically upload files in the folder to the web. From there I can download those files into any device I please.
My client wants me to download images from a public dropbox folder and show them in the app. (Think Wallpaper App). Is there any way to do this using the dropbox sdk for Android? Reading the documentation I could only find methods which involve the user authenticating himself and using his own dropbox account.
