I was running 12.04.2 with the 3.2 series kernel. I thought the "latest and greatest" would be a good idea, so I installed the lts-quantal kernel and corresponding xorg-lts-quantal components.

I install draftSight which found in Synaptic and in Ubuntu Software Centre to try and after while I uninstall to try LibreCad, now I want to reinstall draftSight cant find neither in Synaptic nor Ubuntu Software Centre. How do I get the same package, I think the package was free that come with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.

I attempted to install DraftSight via .deb package in 12.10 after the dependencies were met.

Some time back we had reported a way to have KDE 4.3 on Slackware Current using vbatt's packages, since KDE 4.3 was still not official on Slackware. Now, you no longer have to depend on third-party packages for KDE 4.3.2 on Slcakware. It has become official.

CodeWeavers latest version of CrossOver for Linux and Mac has been released. . CrossOver 9.0 (codenamed Snow Mallard) is a commercial software that helps  installing Windows applications via Wine easily for Linux users. It is a well tested software. But it is not a free software.

Just a short Tutorial today. It’s surprising how many people do not know this. To change the hostname under Linux, open a terminal window. Type the following code. sudo nano /etc/hosts and change the text to your new hostname. Changes will take effect on Restart.

To enter Root Terminal in Ubuntu, use Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal. Then type ’sudo -s’ and hit return. Type in your administrator password, hit [Enter] and you’re done.
