The first daily ISO images of the upcoming Ubuntu 13.04 (Raring Ringtail) operating system were made available by Canonical on the regular FTP website. Ubuntu 13.04 daily builds are now available for download from Canonical's server.
Welcome to the Raring Ringtail Alpha 2 release, which will in time become the 13.04 release.
This alpha features images for Kubuntu and Ubuntu Cloud.
At the end of the 12.10 development cycle, the Ubuntu flavour decided that it would reduce the number of milestone images going forward and the focus would concentrate on daily quality and fortnightly testing rounds known as cadence testing.
Canonical has just released the first daily images for Ubuntu 14.10 (Utopic Unicorn) and the development season is open for business. The Ubuntu developers have already started working on the next Ubuntu version, and the first development images have been produced. Don't expect too much from the new Ubuntu build, at least not yet.
Ubuntu 13.04 with codename “raring ringtails” daily builds ISO image are now available for download. These are early development builds not recommended for production systems. The ISO images available for 32-bit, 64-bit, amd64+mac, PowerPC and Armhf OMAP4 architectures.
The Daily Build of Lubuntu 13.04 (Raring Ringtail) has also been announced by Canonical, alongside Ubuntu, Kubuntu, and Xubuntu. Lubuntu is a distribution that aims to be a lightweight operating system, which uses the minimal desktop LXDE and a selection of light applications.
Ubuntu GNOME 13.04 (Raring Ringtail) has been launched on April 25, along with the Ubuntu and Kubuntu flavors. The developers have decided to stick with the 3.6 branch of GNOME, at least during this release cycle.
