I have a GeForce 8400 GS card and I run two monitors. I use Xinerama (don't recall now why but I think XrandR didn't work for me) and nvidia. I would like three monitors now and I see here https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=831783 (and other posts) that Xinerama can do this.
I've been using onboard video, installed F16 64 a couple days ago, followed leigh's driver instructions, and want to see if the video card is working.
Okay, I'm not sure what type of motherboard I have. All I can tell is that I'm using an onboard video card. I just obtained an old NVidia GeForce 6200 and I want to get it working. If possible, I would like to set it up for a second monitor.
Hi,I've got a new motherboard, with an onboard Intel video card. I'm not going to play games, but movies should run reasonably well, shouldn't they? Yet I've got tearing, even on moderate resolution.I've heard about Intel using system memory for video memory, but I can't find any useful info on the subject.
I just got given an ATI Radion Saphire HD 3650 card.
I got a new video card (Nvidia Galaxy Geforce 9500 gt) and 2 gigs of ram on black friday, and have been having some issues since installed. I would be doing something, playing wow, checking out facebook, anything, and i would randomly crash. Getting a blue screen which i never have time to figure out what it all means. I reverted to the old ram setup, and this still happened.
I have a PC that has an integrated graphics chip on the motherboard. It runs X nicely. I bought a video card (NVIDIA GEFORCE FX5200), installed it in a PCI slot, downloaded the drivers from the nvidia website, installed them, rebooted, connected the monitor to the new video card, and that worked fine.
I have been trying this to no avail. I am a linux newb, so a step by step explanation would be greatly appreciated. I have two video cards, nvidia geforce 8600 gt . I want a monitor to run on each card, so twinview cannot be used because my understanding that is only for single video cards.
I went to the system monitors tab and my second display is detected but disabled.
Hi,
I am using Ubuntu 12.10 with GNOME 3.6. My system is Compaq Presario CQ3340IX which has an onboard graphics memory - Intel GMA x4500. But my ubuntu is not detecting it. In my System Settings->Details my graphics is shown as blank. Doesn't that mean my onboard graphics is not detected???
