DMA on USB is not working?

http://forums.fedoraforum.org – Hello. I have Fedora 17 (RussianFedora remix) installed on my laptop. When system reads/writes to usb-flash drive cpu is loaded on 100% (iowait). I think that's because it's uses PIO, not DMA. How to change it? It's great problem with live-USB for example (I tryed it on 3 PCs). Maybe I am mistaken and this is not DMA/PIO problem. I couldn't find solving of this problem (don't know what keywords to use). If it was already solved, please show me that thread. (HowTos)

I have a problem when I power on my laptop (EliteBook 8530p) with fedora core 12 live cd in my optical drive. It simply will not start. The two numlock and capslock leds are flashing regularly and the screen is either blank, or it just freezes at the main menu (from which I can enter bios, etc). A HP assistant suggested that I should update my bios, but it's the same.

Munin shows high iowait (see legend), but does not reflect it on graphs.

It has default config, except the graph_height (but the problem was from beginning, before the graph_height was chnaged).

What's wrong with it?

i don't know if it's about the rom, but when i tryed i got my screeen uncompleted, like a croped image from the rigt, it was just a pixel or two at the firsts days, when it got a bit bigger, but it stoped growing, screen is working perfectly, but i see this border everywhere, i tryed to flash to stock rom to see if i could solve the problem,

I regularly have the problem that my Linux (Ubuntu 12.04) writes some files to an USB drive that are afterwards missing or broken in Windows. Windows often also tells me that it found problems with the drive.

I have installed ubuntu before on my laptop (hp envy m6) before no problem. I currently have a CLEAN (i think) install of windows 8 (meh) on it. I am trying to now keep my Windows 8 install on the internal drive, and USB boot off of a 500GB toshiba external USB drive. I have the Fedora 18 disk in the DVD drive.

I am Extremely NEW in Fedora as well in Linux. At beginning i had problem with installing Fedora 16 from DVD. Well it have been solved using nogpt perameter . In speed i forgot to Customize Packages and now i realized how big mistake i did.
