Hi there
This thread is to share my experience or solution of samba domain login of windows client . I had configured a samba server as primary domain controller . Linux DIstro was Cent Os 5.3.
Here's a quick summary of the environment I support: we have a domain (domain A) that has about 20 client computers. The domain server for this domain and all the clients sit within the network infrastructure of a larger domain (domain B). All the computers get their network settings via DHCP from domain B's servers.
I installed the Apache.
My active directory domain's name is "mywebsite.com" instead of "mywebsite.local". I had to do this as a workaround to other issues, and to change it will be a pain. When people inside of my company visit "mywebsite.com", it redirects to our DC instead of our website. How can I make it redirect to our website?
We recently bought a wildcard certificate and installed it for a domain. It works fine for the main domain but seems to not work at all for any sub domains.
Whats happening is we can access the sub domains fine on HTTP, but whenever we try HTTPS for the same sub domain url we are redirected back to the main domain.
We have a Suse machine on a windows domain which has the offline login option enabled so you just use your domain user pass even when your not connected to the domain to connect locally. Problem is it takes about a minute and a half to login when your off site. I guess the login is repeatedly trying to contact the domain controller, is there any way to shorten this time period?
I've got about 30 Windows 2008 R2 servers as members of a domain, and am attempting to configure the certificates part correctly for remote desktop access to those servers.
The catch is that the clients that need to connect to these servers are not on the domain.
after you get the scope and everything setup, my question is about the client, if it is already a member of another domain, how to switch it over to the new domain, here are my steps, if i may number them in the order that i believe is correct, if you have a different order please add your list to this response.
demote the id domain name to workgroup
reboot the client machine
change the properti
How to configure a 123-reg domain with DynDNS and a linux server?
Hi,
I've just set up a CentOS web server running lamp, purchased a domain from 123-reg and have signed up for DynDNS standard.
I'm really confused how I get the domain to link in with Dyn.
The client updater is working fine and I can access the website from the public IP, but whenever I go to the domain it just tells me it's a 12
