Hi, I have my phone on the lowest setting of Settings -> display -> brightness and I also have automatic brightness turned off, and the screen is still too bright and drains battery like crazy. My friend's galaxy s3 is so much dimmer and she can go even lower. Any suggestions? Much appreciated! :)
Hi guys,Iam not sure auto brightness works for me? Can someone tell me if its fine on they're device? With my htc one i had auto brightness ticked and if i went from a dark room to a room with light ........... i would see the screen get brighter, as it was meant to, but on this phone iam seeing no change? unless its very subtle!!
On my old Droid X, custom roms left the option there to set your own thresholds to ambient light as well as custom brightness levels. This was necessary, due to its weird reporting of ambient light to begin with.
On CM9 on the X, that would be under Display in the system settings. With CM10 on the S III, there's no such option.
Is it possible to program something like setting the brightness to maximum via one of the hardware buttons, perhaps a long press or double press? I have done this a couple times: I keep my brightness to "Auto" which is fine in most situations. However, if I am at the beach or other sunny place the screen does not display bright enough for me.
This is the reverse of the "failure to rotate" problem. In Display setting on my Samsung SCH-1200 I usually uncheck the A-R box. Then, sometime in the next day or two rotation starts to happen without anybody touching settings, the box has rechecked itself. Any ideas.
(Similar problem with brightness, I like it bright but display resets to auto all by itself.
When I wake up one day,I founded out that the phone screen is very bright,I tried to adjust the brightness but I can't decrease it.In the phone setting the brightness setting is in the minimum but actually brightness is still the Max.
i'd like to share my personal daily rom. Its main purpose is to allow you to read in bed without disturbing your girlfriend. :D
This is reached with allowing the brightness to go down to the (nearly) absolute minimum.
My Samsung NP740 has been running Ubuntu fine for 18 months. I did an upgrade to 14.10 and the screen brightness controls stopped working correctly. I did a wipe and fresh install and I still have the same problem.
The symptom is that the brightness is now set automatically, regardless of setting it using the controls.
