Before I go ahead, this fedora core 16 is running quite happily under vmware esx 3.5
# uname -ia
Linux hostname 3.6.6-1.fc16.x86_64 #1 SMP Mon Nov 5 16:56:43 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
ok, my first major upgrade and I chose the preupgrade path (i also tried preupgrade-cli).
I upgraded my system (using FC17 dvd) from fedora 16 to fedora 17. But when I type the command
Code:
uname -a
in the terminal it says
Linux whiteunicorn 3.4.9-1.fc16.x86_64 #1 SMP Wed Aug 15 20:45:23 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
why is it showing fc16 and not fc17.....????
I am running a Dell Studio 17 laptop with Fedora 17 (3.5.4-2.fc17.x86_64) and gnome desktop. For the last week I have been seeing a disk file corruption issue that I hope someone can help me troubleshoot.
The basic issue is that I after working with the system for a while I start to see disk messages essentially informing me that my drive is (re)mounted read only.
Hi,
I installed fc17 x86_64 on a 1TB disk and it boots fine. I have an old fc15 2TB disk that I'd like to add to the system without making any changes to the disk itself.
Hi,
I'm running F17 x86_64 KDE Spin on my computer. This is the output of
Code:
uname -a
Code:
Linux Kitchi 3.5.3-1.fc17.x86_64 #1 SMP Wed Aug 29 18:46:34 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64
GNU/Linux
Everytime I switch my wireless on and off using the hardware switch (Fn + F2) abrt pops up telling me my kernel has been tainted.
Does anyone know why this is happening?
Hello,
I have been having a issues with my nvidia drivers not working. I have been googling and reading the forums but still no resolution.
Background info
I'm currently running CentOS (or Red Hat?).
uname -a gives (I edited out my domain name)
Linux XXXXXXXXX.com 2.6.32-71.29.1.el6.x86_64 #1 SMP Mon Jun 27 19:49:27 BST 2011 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
cat /etc/issue gives
CentOS release 6.2 (Final)
Kernel \r on an \m
and `cat /proc/version' gives
Linux version 2.6.32-71.29.1.el6.x86_64 (mockbuild@c6b5.bsys.dev.centos.org)
I just got everything up and running under F17 and am having issues generating a xorg.conf.
Code:
Xorg -configure :1
X.Org X Server 1.12.4
Release Date: 2012-08-27
X Protocol Version 11, Revision 0
Build Operating System: 2.6.32-279.9.1.el6.x86_64
Current Operating System: Linux Ac1d-PC.home 3.6.11-1.fc17.x86_64 #1 SMP Mon Dec 17 22:16:35 UTC 2012 x86_64
Kernel command line: BOOT_IM
I have just updated the kernel to
aa@aa-E6530:~$ uname -a
Linux aa-E6530 3.5.0-22-generic #34-Ubuntu SMP Tue Jan 8 21:47:00 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
and my suspend stopped working.
The last part of the file /var/log/pm-suspend.log is:
