disaster recovery - anyone?

http://forums.fedoraforum.org – I managed to do a very stupid thing today; would like your helpful inputs if you ever did such a thing and recovered from it. In short, while doing a fresh install of F12, I left my USB backup disk connected- while choosing "replace existing linux system" in anaconda, I overlooked that sdb was also selected. I pressed the "OK" button and thats it - LVM has cleared the old partion table and made a logical volume out of the USB partion with all the backup data gone! I know this is a sad situation. Only hoping if ext3 stores a backup partion table which can be recovered and restored somehow? any help will be appreciated. (HowTos)
