Disable Inbuilt Wireless Card without disabling All Wireless

http://forums.fedoraforum.org – My Fedora 17 laptop has a built-in Wireless PCIe card (RT3090), which is malfunctional. I have a USB Wireless adapter that I use instead, and want to deactivate the PCIe. On Windows, I could use the hardware switch to disable the inbuilt card, but this also disabled Bluetooth. On Fedora, it seems to disable all the wireless hardware - my USB adapters (x3), the PCIe and the BT. This is obviously not the solution. I know I can set the card to "Off" in the Networking menu in the top-left, but it still lists nearby networks, taking up valuable screen real-estate (especially (HowTos)
