Direct rendering enabled, only software rasterizer(Radeon Mobility 7500-Fedora 10/11)

http://forums.fedoraforum.org – hello everyone, this is my first post on the forums. i hoped i wont be needing to resort to ask on the forums, but i have looked around and found nothing to help me. so here is the situation: i have an IBM Thinkpad T30 with Radeon Mobility 7500. last year i used opensuse 11.0 on it and i had direct rendering enabled right after setup (3d acceleration on, dual-head off in setup). after i year it was kinda mess so i formatted and installed 11.1 this time. then the problems came: Code: direct rendering: Yes server glx vendor string: SGI server glx version string: 1.2 this part was ok, but scrolling down: Code: OpenGL vendor string: Mesa Project OpenGL renderer string: Software Rasterizer OpenGL version string: 2.1 Mesa 7.3-devel this was strange because if i had no direct rendering i just had "MESA GLX Indirect" there so i thought i just install back opensuse 11.0. and it didnt work, the symptoms were the exact same as with 11.1 i tried installing fedora 11, but i had problems right at the setup, there were black parts of the install windows after starting the graphical portion of the setup - like not seeing anything from the eula, etc - so i installed it with vesa, then configured the video with X -configure the system-config-display. nothing changed. downloaded fedora 10, installed it, again same process (Xorg config, system-config) nothing changes, glxgears gives 60-90 fps in the small windows (it should be 2000+). if anyone can help i would really appreciate it. thank you. here i provide my glxgears report: Quote: name of
