Digitizer unresponsive during lock screen?

http://forum.xda-developers.com – I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing an unresponsive touch screen when trying to turn on the phone while there is a finger resting on the screen. Many times I am grabbing the phone out of my pocket with one hand and use my index finger to press the power while having my thumb resting on the screen itself. After pressing the power button, the screen is usually unresponsive indefinitely or it may become responsive again after 5-10 seconds. While Googling I also found someone else experiencing this but was not sure if it was just the way it is or if something is wrong with my phone. (HowTos)

Press and hold these three keys all together for at least 5 seconds:

Volume Down + Volume Up + Power Button!

I think this is very useful for those who have cover (specially silicon cover which is hard to remove) and also in some ROMs (I don't want to name them) after some times it become unresponsive and pressing the power key doesn't turn on the screen....

Hello, My LG Esteem is rooted with CWM. At the time that the problem began I was running the Gingersteem1 rom. Yesterday the touch screen was sluggish at times, today it has been completely unresponsive. I used the volume toggle/power hard keys to reboot into CWM and wiped the data which didn't help. Suspecting it could be rom oriented I flashed the Number2 rom.

Freeze on Screen Lock 35 weeks 3 days ago

Anyone else have this (I have the Korean SK model, E210S), sometimes it just freezes on the screen lock. Touch screen unresponsive, holding down the power button gets me the menu and then it seems to work. Just tapping the power button (to turn off the screen) doesn't work, home button doesn't work, etc. Never need to reboot, but it is irritating.

Hi, i have an international Galaxy S3 (i-9300). I recently updated to Jelly Bean via Samsung Kies (baseband version I9300DXDLI5) and there's a change that has been bugging me. In stock ICS, when the screen turned off due to inactivity, pressing either the power button or the home button would turn on the screen and lets me pick up where i left off.

I purchased a Nexus 4 8GB on launch day. The device consistently (multiple times per day) would be non-responsive when I pushed the power button to do a PIN unlock. I had to cycle the power button to get it to respond.

I called in an RMA the other night, Google overnighted a new phone to me.

Dropped my At&t S3 at work today and the screen went black... can sometimes see a few lock screen images, but it is unresponsive to touch. I'm rooted, running CM10 and believe I have usb debugging allowed on the the phone. Is there anyway for me to locate and view the SMS's that have been sent to me through my computer?

If your tablet is powered ON, but the screen is off, are you also experiencing VERY long times (5 seconds) before the screen comes on when you press the power button? Seems weird and often I am pressing it again and again thinking it has not been pressed properly.

Screen on takes about 1 second or less on my SGS3.

i have own samsung galaxy y pro duos GT B5512 and question is that could anybudy tell me about is there any other way to unlock the device without pressing power (when screen goes off) button, i mean to say like samsung galaxy y s5360 where we can press home button to stay screen on? If after rooting device is it possible please tell me. My idea behind asking this Q.
