I was just wondering; Is it possible to run Irssi as a service? Or any other IRC-client for that matter.
I'm part of this tracker which has an idlerpg on IRC. Based on how long you are idle, you get credits.
Now, I have Irssi so can connect to it.

I added a new group: ircuser and a new user: ircuser
In visudo I placed this line:
myuser localhost=(ircuser) NOPASSWD: /usr/bin/irssi
Created ircuser directory, where config files, caches, etc should be saved:
drwxrwx--- 2 ircuser ircuser 4096 Mar 2 10:28 ircuser
When issuing the command:
sudo -Hu ircuser /usr/bin/irssi
or
sudo -u ircuser /usr/bin/irssi

Could you please tell me how to make irssi beep through the speakers whenever i get a message on IRC? This would be really apreciatted :)
I have tried the set beep thing on but doesnt work.

I've searched for this for sometime but to no avail - is there a way of getting message alerts when using irssi+bitlbee? A colleague recommended libnotify, but I am unsure of how to configure this?Any help most appreciated!
