Having some issues with my Samsun Stellar... I couldn't load the 4.1.2 JB Update from Verizon on my rooted Stellar... So I tried to first 1) un-root then 2) flash back to the stock ROM then update. Option 1 didn't work, but Option 2 did.... Odin to stock rom, 1 small OTA update, then the JB OTA... worked like a charm. But once I got to JB, I couldn't re-root my phone.
alright sooooo. my optimus m was rooted through gingerbreak and on cm7 running cool as a cucumber. today i plugged my phone into my laptop and it needed to update the drivers; so i allowed it.... it updated my s/w version, stock reset my phone killing the root obviously; and put my phone into stock 2.2.2 ...... so that forced me to try and re-root using the dummy proof kit for 2.2.2.
Hello (:
I currently have my Prime running stock .28 (4.0) rom and rooted, but i want to update it to 4.1, though i want to keep root.
I used Voodoo Root Keeper to update from .21 to .28 update, but i'm unsure if it will work with the 4.1 update as it's a much larger update than it was going from .21 to .28?
Also, if anyone knows, is there any problems with the JB update that have been
I decided to take the OTA update today while I was at work. I had the phone plugged into the charger on a wall outlet. I picked the install now option on the pop up blabbing about the update.
Hi,
I have a P3113.
I want to be able to receive the OTA updates from Samsung, but their OTA update process invokes a reboot into their stock recovery to complete the update.
I was planning to flash Jelly but decided that I'm happy with ICS and liam wilng to wait for the OTA update. What's the process for preparing for the OTA update?
The method I used to root the phone was I believe the easy one click root debugfs-root. I used EZ-Unlock to unlock the bootloader. I also installed EZ-Recovery. Thanks.
Hi can anyone tell me if you just use odin to root your GS3 and do nothing else except run the rooting process will it reboot and still have stock ICS 4.0.4 on my device and will I still be able to download the upcoming OTA jelly bean update from Samsung?:confused:

I'm still kinda new to Android eventhough i have it rooted and flashed to Cyanogenmod.
However samsung just put out a new update that improves system stability.
If i update from my restored stock rom, will i lose my root?
If so is there anyway i can keep my root?
thanks in advance
I was wondering if anyone knows if i can keep root after taking the ics ota. Ive tried root keeper but when i update my phone just reboots like normal? Can someone help or at least shed some light on how to even update using the ota without root? Thanks!
