Thanks in advance! I have a brand new Nexus 7, my first Android device. There are a few features I've gotten used to on iOS that I'm still trying to figure out how to get working on Android. One I use a lot on my iPhone is a universal (well, almost universal) dictionary lookup.
There are many words that I use in a day that are not in the dictionaries used by spell checkers, but they are either in the dictionary or are found by Google to be correct on a dictionary web site.
I also have a sloppy "fist" when it comes to typing.
I have an HTC Incredible 2. My problem is that words I have saved to the phone's Personal Dictionary are constantly disappearing. For example, most recently I was writing a text message and in the body used my Friend's name, "Nayeli" a name I type regularly and I am absolutely positive was until recently recognized by my phone.
From hunspell man page:
...
When in the -a mode, hunspell will also accept lines of single
words prefixed with any of '*', '&', '@', '+', '-', '~', '#',
'!', '%', '`', or '^'.
I'm making a English - Vietnamese dictionary application, please suggest how to pronouce an English word.
I mean, Is there any solution to make: Input: a word + phonetic -> Output: sound?
I already thought about Text-to-Speech, but it requires an internet connection so it doesn't work for my Dictionary App.
In this directory I have English dict and my language file, but where I can download other language? Or maybe you known other free dictionary? I need to make list of word that are not in the dictionary.
Hello Android Fans ;)
I have recently created a convenient English dictionary that helps you learn words you have searched in our past! It is the first dictionary to come with over 320,000 offline definitions in around 20mb. The application also does wikipedia queries on the side! It also has features such as in-app quizzes and lockscreen quizzes.
:) Hi guys, i am really new for apk apps. I have coded some pc based applications in vb6 including one dictionary for my local language, having sufficient database. Now I want to make an andriod dictionary. Can anybody tell me where to start and how can i develop dictionary for andriod. Thanks in advance.
I've been an iPhone user since the first came out. I WANT to make the switch to Android and leave the Apple ecosystem, but it seems to me like many of the apps that I use on iOS have no equivalent apps on Android.
For example, I study French and frequently use the Collins English-French Dictionary app on my iPhone.
