http://androidforums.com – I have a strange issue. When I press numbers in my dialler, it shows x contacts to the right with suggestions of contacts having similar sequence of numbers. The last one among the list is a number without any contact name. I dont have it in any of my Contact lists (phone/SIM/gmail) nor in recently dialled list. Its annoying as I dont know where this number is stored in my phone. I didnt try with many combinations, but, I see that one is my present number (shows with and without contact names) and other is my 'self' number which I have used long back (different SIM card) in my phone, bu (General)

Ok, here is my problem. My conutry code is 505, I have my contact list, if I received an sms it will show the number not the name in my contact, so I discover that is when a Contact write to me some time (think is a network related stuff) it adds an +505 to the number I have in contact, so my phone does not link that sms to my contact.

I have an HTC Desire phone running Android 2.2 on Virgin Mobile UK.

All of the contacts I use on my phone are in the 'My Contacts' group of my Gmail account.

If I log into my Gmail account on a PC and edit a contact, for example changing a phone number, it syncs immediately with the phone.

Lets say that i have 100 calls in my call log. I want to find the unique contacts (not numbers) that they have been called. The problem is that if a contact has two phone numbers (e.g. for Contact A i have a number for home and another for mobile) i will count that contact twice!

My S3 is constantly and randomly forgetting my contact info, as in all of my text messages or phone logs dont show the persons name anymore just their number and if i go into contacts it shows none. Only fix is to reset the phone. It is NOT an issue with which contacts are displayed and it is ALL of my contacts whether stored on the phone, sim or backed up on google.

Hi, I have Quarx latest CM7.2 nightly installed on my mb526. The only thing that annoys me is phone number digit grouping in contact list. It defaults to: 072-123-4567

I would like it to be (we usually spell numbers like that) 0721-234-567

or just plain number without hypens.

The fact is some numbers don't have formating, like +40723456789.

What can I do to tweak this?

I was showing someone else how to delete a contact using my S3. I deleted my wife (bad move I know), then added her back to my phone right after that. Now when she calls it shows her phone number, not her name. I added her work number to the same contact and that will show her name. I tried to delete her from my contacts and then add her again from tablet to see if that would work. NOPE!
