Red Hat is currently in the process of consolidating all its community
hosted servers to a single hosting facility. As part of that,
the gnome.org servers are being moved *this weekend*.
You plan on doing something other than working on GNOME this weekend, or
find a programming task that doesn't rely on access to GNOME servers.

I have repurposed an old machine to serve as an Intranet server for our LAN. I was planning to use it to host some Drupal projects. I initially used Cherokee with PHP-FPM. It was working well when I was the only accessing it during development.
I'm trying to set up a server for my Django project, but there is packaged DNS support at my web host (the customer insisted on web host with lowest local ping times, so I can't change).
I have two internal dns servers set up and all my servers have both of them in the resolv.conf Our main dns server went down and suddenly no server could see each other. I edited a few of the servers resolv.conf manually and committed out the first (down) dns server and that machine would instantly be able to ping again.
Hi,
I am going to migrate the following databases back to our main Mysql
machine (drawable):
- blogs.gnome.org
- extensions.gnome.org
- bugzilla.gnome.org
Those are currently hosted on a backup machine we used after
drawable's RAID failure around two weeks ago. The machine has been
fixed and the faulty hardware parts have been fixed by IBM.
I recently setup a virtualization server for the small company I'm running.
This server runs few virtual machines that are used for development, testing, etc...
My business partner works from a remote location, thus I also installed a vpn server on the virtualization host to make it possible for him to safely reach the company services.
I've setup smtp mail server (by postfix) in my local linux machine and it is working fine with local mail accounts.
now, I'm planning to send the emails from my local machine (hostname: machine1) to other mail server (machine2).
whenever i try, i get:
<mailacc@machine2.com>: Host or domain name not found.
The previously announced outage for the gnome.org servers for
Dec 12 and Dec 13 is now complete.
At this point, we believe that the GNOME servers are fully functional
again.
