Hi,
The GNOME Release team has officially deprecated libglade in favor of
GtkBuilder.
Some reasons:
* GtkBuilder is actively maintained.
* GtkBuilder can create non-widgets (like treemodels).
* It's one less library.
Aim is to get rid of libglade for GNOME 3.0.
In the last release team meeting we've accepted the Python 3 porting
goal for GNOME 3.8.
https://live.gnome.org/GnomeGoals/Python3Porting
Meaning: During development phase of GNOME 3.8 (3.7.x) we will depend on
Python 3.
Maintainers/developers: Please visit above URL and assist with the
porting.
Hi all,
Right on time! It's still Friday and here's the call for tarballs! This is the
second development snapshot towards the 2.28 release. Again, have a
look at the table in http://www.gnome.org/~fpeters/299.html and try to
help make this happen!
Tarballs are due on 2009-05-25 before 23:59 UTC for the GNOME 2.27.2
unstable release, which will be delivered on Wednesday. Modules which
were proposed for inclusion should try to follow the unstable schedule
so everyone can test them.
Like every 6 months the period for proposing new modules for official
inclusion in GNOME has started.
If you are a maintainer, now is the time to propose your module to be
included in GNOME!
How should you proceed?

GNOME 2.29.1 Development Release
================================
We're only a few days after 2.28.1, and 2.29.1 is already there! We have
some brave people who did some amazing work for this release, with new
features in various modules. And of course, the numerous bug fixes that
we're all used to.
Hello all,
Due to the outage of GNOME servers between December 12-14[1], we're
punting this release by 2 days to give enough time for developers to release
their new tarballs.
Tarballs are due on 2009-12-16 before 23:59 UTC for the GNOME 2.28.2
stable release, which will be delivered on Friday.
Hello all,
This is 2.29.6 time next week, and this is not just your standard
email asking for tarballs, as we also inform you that this milestone
marks the beginning of the feature freeze.
This is a good time to start summarizing what has changed in your
modules in this cycle, so that people can work on the release notes!
