Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum.I've been using Ubuntu ever since I started using Linux - a couple of years ago. Unfortunately Ubuntu has become less customizable and is simply not what it once was. I've recently found that I need to reinstall due to some problems with my installation. I thought I may as well switch distros.

I'd like to make a general complaint about how Ubuntu's developing.
Hi I'm JamesI've migrated from Ubuntu, first to Debian then to a couple of Ubuntu-derivs, e.g. Mint, Elementary, etc. Used CentOS a lot at work but keep coming back to Debian-based distros for the familiarity of it.
The recent release of Ubuntu 12.10, aka Quantal Quetzal, is a more palatable version of the open source OS built around the Unity desktop environment. Perhaps I am growing more accustomed to Unity, or maybe Canonical's developers are succeeding in refining the graphical user interface, so it seems less objectionable for me to use.

While Debian and Ubuntu (along with their respective derivatives) have been my distro of choice for many years, I've since started delving into the other side Linux. Non Debian/Ubuntu distros. I've tried quite a few over the past couple months. From the somewhat complicated (Arch, Gentoo) to the more user-friendly (Fedora, OpenSUSE).
Seems I've fallen in love with one in particular. Fuduntu.

As I mentioned in post title I have some problem with my microphone. I read some web sites for find a solution but none of them work. I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 unity. And I see in a web which a user was said that Skype works in ubuntu gnome much better. Do u have any idea to make it right ?
