Desktop icons duplicated on dual-screen...?!

http://forums.fedoraforum.org – hi, on my Fedora 16 LXDE dual-screen setup, desktop icons appear as duplicates on both screens ...?! huh? it's set up as one big desktop spanning over both screens, and works fine, and always has. icons on the left screen are where they are supposed to be (individual placement). since yesterday all icons from left screen have a "doppelganger" on right screen. I think the only thing I did was upgrading some packages via yum. I don't want duplicate icons on the right screen! :C can you help? thanks, ro (HowTos)

Hey folks, I have a system with three screens running Ubuntu 11.10 86_64. Those screens are located next to each other and the X-Server is configured with Xinerama. The screen in the middle is the main screen and all desktop-icons are located on the left one by default (files, links, ...). If I want to move one of these icons to another screen, I try to drag and drop those.

I'm running Ubuntu 11.10 and a few days ago I switched to gnome3. Now I have still a few folders I'm using for everyday work on my desktop. I want to group them in specific areas of the desktop to reflect my working style ... but every time I log out and in again, all folders, icons etc.

I'm assuming the Unity bar is the bar located on the left hand side of the screen.

Is it possible to move those icons to the desktop, like a shortcut?

I'd like mainly all external device icons, like USB and external drives to be moved, if possible.

Can this be done?

Hi everyone.

My desktop icons move around the desktop as if they had a mind of their own. I prefer to keep everything on my desktop, so it has many icons until I clean it up and archive old projects.

But, the icons never stay where I put them!!

I am building a Mythbuntu media center, the display being a 42" television. I set the text and desktop icons to be extremely large so they are readable from the couch. This is good, but all of the icons align to the top of the screen, and because the icon size is so large I can't have them move down one position. I am a perfectionist a this bothers me.

I have problem with tray icons on Ubuntu 11.04.

1. Application icons - sometimes are shadowed and inactive, e.g. when I click on skype, thunderbird icon - nothing happens.

2. Other icons - indicators are never in that state, but sometimes theirs menu don't expand.

I have had my AT&T branded Note 2 for about a week now and was wondering how to use the 4 icons on the bottom of the home\main screen (the screen you swipe before the security screen). It seems once I added security those icons dont work anymore unless I do the swipe.

Is there a way to setup those icons to work even if the device is locked?
