hello #! community!i would like to add an application launcher (similar to quick launch from windows) in my tint2. im thinking something like this.
I've just upgraded from 12.04 to 12.10. The upgrade went smoothly I think, but when I log in now everything is black, I can only see my mouse cursor.
At first I could see my old wallpaper, but no launcher or menu bar or icons and after reboot it's now only black. I've seen similar questions and forum topics, but anything I've tried has not helped.
Unity Launcher Toggle is an Ubuntu application indicator for toggling the Unity launcher mode (fixed or autohide). The programming language used is Python.
Install Unity Launcher Toggle indicator:
Unity Launcher Toggle tarball is available at launchpad.net
For now, ppa:napdivad/ppa provides package of the indicator for Ubuntu 12.04 Precise.
First of all sorry for my bad english.
I have installed today Ubuntu 12.04 on my desktop. I have a NVIDIA 8400GS which is giving me a lot of problems. Ubuntu does not take the drivers automatically and then forces me to work in 800 x 600.
I have 3 android applications. One main application call other 2 applications (main application will be interface for other 2 applications). I would like to have only one icon of this main app. I have 3 applications they can be downloaded separately. Now I need the other applications to check if the main application is installed. If not, download and install main app.
Recently, I installed Ubuntu 12.10 on an old IBM computer, but when trying to log in, there is no Unity launcher, top bar, etc. If I wait around a minute or so, a message box appears that says "The application Compiz has stopped unexpectedly" or something along those lines. I can use the terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T) and have tried using CCSM and everything looks normal.
How to start an application that has no launcher activity?
Story behind the problem:
I have an application that is basically a BroadcastReceiver that waits for a couple system intents like BOOT_COMPLETED.
I have installed a Windows application through wine, and it launches perfectly through the generated launcher, however, when I use the exact same commands the launcher uses, but to invoke the program from the console, I just get errors and warnings but no application.
Is there something I'm missing here?
If I remember correctly, clicking on the application in launcher started the application if it was not already open and focused on the application if it was already open. I had to middle click to start another instance.
But, recently, whenever I click in the launcher, a new application window is started, irrespective of whether one is already open or not.
What should I do? A bug?
