Less than a week after Google released the code for its Chrome OS, Dell announced that it has succeeded in getting the operating system up and running on its Mini 10v netbook.
I've tried following the guide at OMGUbuntu:

If the above method looks a little complicated then don’t worry – there’s a quicker way to get up and running.
First follow step 1 but install Google Chrome rather than extract it.
Then run the following command (assuming you also have Chromium installed
Chromium web browser, the open source version of Google Chrome has reached version 21. The Chromium daily build ppa has stopped updating the packages after version 18 was released.
While Chromium team ppas won’t release new versions of Chromium browser, Alex Shkop will try to maintain more-or-less fresh releases of Chromium. Two PPAs were built for Chromium stable and Chromium development version.
Install Latest Version of Chromium:
For now, two PPAs only provide packages for Ubuntu 12.04. Launch a terminal from the dash home or press Ctrl+Alt+T.
I used the following post, http://nickfarmer.me/chromium-on-the...inspiron-1545/ , to get Chromium OS to work on my Dell laptop but it's an old build. I'd like to use the Chromium Vanilla builds that are a lot newer but know I will run into driver issues (I've tried). I have those driver problems resolved in Ubuntu and was wondering what I could do in Chromium OS.
After installing Ubuntu 12.10 on my laptop, I went to download Chrome and got an error saying it was packaged badly or something, so I read up about it and found out about Chrome, and most people suggest that Ubuntu users should use Chromium over Chrome, although a lot is down to preference.
I read that Chromium is almost a 'beta' build for Chrome, but is quicker etc.
I updated Chromium in 12.04 with apt-get from the official repositories and chromium-browser --version say Chromium 20.0.1132.47 Ubuntu 12.04. but "About Chromium" from the browser itself say 18.0.1025.168 (Developer Build 134367 Linux) Ubuntu 12.04
why is that ?
how can I update Chromium ?
Google Chrome/Chromium browser has its own built in notifications for certain web apps, they look the same across all operating systems, but why not make it give you a default Ubuntu Unity / Gnome Shell notification instead?
There’s a simple extension properly support notify-osd notifications in Chrome.
I'm running a late pre-release 32 bit version of #! 10 “Statler”. Chromium is my browser of choice at the moment, though I drop in to chrome or iceweasel on occasion.I'm trying to stream .flv files from my server through to my browser, but both chrome and chromium can't cope with .flv, stating that the java plugin was blocked because it was out of date.
