I got one question:
Can I change Dell PowerEdge R410 from version non hot plug to version hot plug?
I bought non hot plug version, but I need hot plug? What can I do now?
The Rosehill Capstone 1000w 80 plus gold PSU came with a big power pin to go into the motherboard plus a 2 x 4 pin that plugs in near the CPU. I plugged the big PSU plug into the mother board but am having a problem with the 2 x 4 pin plug.
If I do NOT plug in the 2 x 4 pin plug and then power on, the cooling system runs and even the DVD player runs a bit.
I was reading the first thread/posts this forum has about ohms law and safety. It tries to explain to me the use of the third prong to earth in a power plug. And if the plug you have has 3 prongs and the receptor power port on the wall or cord only has two slots, do not cut the ground plug ie. the third pin.
