Hello, GNOME suspends on lid close.
For Gnome, it is a normal behaviour, that on closing the lid, the pc suspends, but I would like that my notebook still works and doesn't suspend.
On Beefy Miracle I used the gnome-tweak-tool to setup my Asus Eee PC 1000H to not suspend, and right now after upgrading, Gnome in Spherical Cow ignores this settings.
I just had a look with the dconf-editor on the settings under
org -> gnome -
I have recently switched to Gnome 3 from Gnome 2 (and switched to Linux recently before that), and Gnome 3 doesn't give me as many options to change settings via the GUI, and especially not to change default settings.
Specifically, I'm trying to change the lid close action on my laptop, since I don't want it to suspend on lid close ever.
This is the intended behavior for gnome3. If there is a external monitor detected, it will not suspend on lid close. I never really found a way around it...other than to not use gnome3.

Hi there!To my knowledge, those options were removed from gnome-settings, and from gnome-tweak-tool as well, because Gnome 3.8 no longer handles lid close behaviour. As far as I am aware of, you can work around this issue by modifying your logind.conf (/etc/systemd/logind.conf) to your needs instead. See comments 51 and 52 here.
When I try to start Gnome-Tweak I get this error:
keshav@back-office:~$ gnome-tweak-tool
