http://www.linuxquestions.org – Hi, I am a new linux user and have just installed Debian 7 a week ago. I am enjoying the linux experience, however i have been trying to change my screen resolution with no luck. When i got to system settings > Display, i do not have the option to use 1280x1024. Based on searching through google, i have tried to add the 1280x1024 screen resolution by doing the following, however i get an error: administrator@hom:~$ xrandr --addmode default "1280x1024_60.00" xrandr: Failed to get size of gamma for output default xrandr: cannot find mode "1280x1024_60.00" The only (HowTos)
