I have a few question regarding nandroid backup and titanium backup.

1. If I do nandroid backup of original ROM and then I flash to another ROM, what happens if I directly do restore from the backup from another ROM?

2. What is the difference between nandroid backup and titanium backup? As far as I'm concerned, titanium backup only backup the apps + data. How about nandroid backup?

I want to wipe /sdcard and then to restore apps and data. So what I'll do:

1. Titanium Backup for all apps and data. 2. Wipe /sdcard. 3.

Since my phone got upgraded to ZVD by LG (with some Verizon add-ons like the power-on sound which is cool :)) and I wanted my data back from GSE, I went into CWM and did an advanced restore from the backup I did prior to returning the phone and it restored all my data, apps, wallpaper, etc back to how they were.

You can easily encrypt data to tape using combination of tar and openssl commands. The following is software based solution based upon encryption algorithms supported by openssl tool.

Hey Guys.

I'm looking for an backup application which will allow me to backup my apps and system data on roms based on stock ICS and restore to JB and vice versa.

Titanium backup does the job but after restoring on a new rom I get a lot of fc's and none of the apps works. I cannot restore call log and text messages, accounts, etc.

There's a lot of backup apps, I know.

When I try to restore data that I did not encrypt, I need to enter an encryption password.

Recently I upgraded from Ubuntu 11.10 to 12.10. In the older version I made a backup without encryption of the /home folder. Under my own user name I never had to enter an encryption password.

I'm using: NexusHD2-ICS-4.0.4-CM9-HWA V2.4

Something went wrong on my phone so I decided to restore a backup. I had one from 2 weeks ago. After the restore completed, I rebooted my phone. It was stuck on the ROM splash screen and never got past that. I left it running for 20 minutes. I tried clearing /cache and dalvik-cache, with no luck.

Hi everybody! I've installed CM9 Nightly (latest version) on my p3100 and tried to restore my app's backup with TB. It works and non problem so far! So.... why in the install instruction of CM9 they tell: DO NOT USE TITANIUM BACKUP TO RESTORE APPS!! ?? :confused:

Hi guys, I'm going to change my ROM and i' like a tip from you. I never used Titanium Backup, and seeing the options I had a doubt... There are 3 options: Backup user apps, backup system data, and backup user apps and system data. After I change the ROM, what backup should I restore? Is it possible to restore system data from one ROM to another different ROM?
