Google currently operates eight massive data centers in the U.S. and Europe. It is also constructing new data centers in Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan right now, but one glaring blank spot on the company’s map is Latin America, where the number of Internet users continues to grow rapidly.

How would you feel about wearing a heads-up display? Or an Android-powered pair of glasses? Google already has the prototype up and working, according to the New York Times. What will it bring to the masses, and more importantly, does this have implications beyond the consumer space?

The North Carolina data center Apple built a few years back wasn’t enough, so the company built an identical one next to it, cookie-cutter style. Now apparently that’s not enough either, which is why Apple is once again building another data center, this one in Prineville, Ore. So what does Apple need all this data space for?

Google Now may be one of Google’s most underrated new products of 2012, but I think it will turn out to be Google’s killer mobile product in the long run. It’s the one tool that brings together virtually everything Google knows about you and where you are and then turn all of this information into a useful dashboard on your phone.

Google is slowly pulling down Google Glass’ veil of secrecy. With each announcement, the company reveals a bit more of its secrets. This time around, the video above shows Google Glass’ UI in real world situations — you know, real world as in jumping from a plane and swinging on a trapeze.

Google just announced that it has released a new feature for the Chrome Beta for Android that could speed up web browsing and save bandwidth for mobile Chrome users. With this proxy feature turned on, all your web requests will be routed through Google’s servers, where the company then uses its PageSpeed libraries to compress and optimize the content.

  Those of us who have a Jelly Bean-powered device probably utilize Google Now on a daily basis, but now it appears that we may be seeing the super cool virtual assistant tool integrated with Google’s Chrome browser. Thanks to some keen eyes out there, it is now known that the Chromium web browser for Windows has been updated to include a new specialized notification center.
