I want to ask help on how to solve my problem broken pipe when creating the file system through ssh.
After I restore disk/partition (same result) backup image of my Ubuntu server using CloneZilla Live, I get no arguments specified error on bootup, then the system is trying to boot but failing.
I have a machine running ubuntu 12.04 and windows 8 on dual boot.
Hi all I've created a clonezilla image from 4 ntfs partitions all of that were 50Gb in size.Later i deleted those 4 partitions to create one bulk partition of size 200Gb.I did that job well using gparted. After i tried to restore that image in that 200Gb ntfs partition.but i can't do that.It returned with some errors.I'm sure image is good.I checked that image after creating. So,there's no problem w
Hi,
I wish to perform a read/write to /dev/block/mmcblk1p1 from the initrd stage of the booting sequence on my SGS III.
I've managed to unpack the boot.img, add some shell code to /sbin/init and re-pack the image and flash it to my device.
but when i try to access the mmcblk1p1 (the external sd, which is of course present) it seems that the write fails.
Hi,
I had to replace a disk in my raid-1 and unfortunately, the rebuild didn't work. I have a backup of the system, so I set up a new raid.
The system partition is an image (with partimage), I have a /home partition for the data, and a swap-partition.
I used a Live-CD and created three partitions in (almost) the same size as the old ones.
Hi ALL,
I am getting flooded with these messages in some of the instances when i stress test my disk by doing multiple read/write operations over many telnet sessions.
EXT2-fs error (device sda11): ext2_free_blocks: Freeing blocks not in datazone - block = 3325268892, count = 1^M
This question is motivated from a reply by Craig Sanders. Thanks, Craig!
In what case, are byte or block level backups, i.e. disk or partition image backups, more suitable than file-based backups?
I used Ping Linux 8 months ago to create a ghost-like image of my primary partition. (Windows 7 on NTFS) The image is on the second partition of my hard drive (Western Digital 250 gig)
I need to restore now, but Ping is unable to mount the volume. In fact, it will not mount any volume or perform any new backup.
