Customizing desktop fonts

I think this has been asked/answered but cannot find it using search. I have a wallpaper that is quite light and the fonts under the icons are white with shadows. They are not all that easy to see and read--fine if the background image was black or dark. How do you change the color of the icon fonts???

How to i change background Color of the desktop icon Font?

The Font are in white and Font Background darkgray. i will set the background Color to transparent.

Does anyone know how to change the Desktop Font color from white to something else. Gnome-Tweak-Tool isn't working and doesn't seem to have that ability if it was.

The blue-gray color of the fonts for system info and for the clock do not contrast enough with the wallpaper that I am using. I have been searching in the menu settings and also in google with no solution to my problem. How can I change it for black or for white?

I am new to KDE. How do I change the Konsole font style/size/color? And the background color? I found FONT settings under SYSTEM SETTINGS but I don't want to change all the fonts, just the konsole. The default font is hard on my eyes. I may even have to make it black on white.

It seem Ubuntu desktop has decided it will override font choice in printing and applications. I am using Firefox, and to get FF fonts to where I want them - I have to tweak the desktop etc, fonts.

I am not trying to use a non-system font, just what came with 11.04. Normally, if the font is in the system, the application will use the font of choice.

In Ubuntu 12.10 Beta 2, I've tried using Ubuntu Tweak to change the window title bar font, but after it's changed in the application, it's not reflected throughout the system. I've tried different fonts at different sizes with no luck; the window title font and size stay the same.

I know this is a beta release, but all the other fonts change on the system when I change them in Ubuntu Tweak.
