Hi,
I have Fedora 18 32+ bit as my only distro on the pc and I am having problems updating Fedora packages when I issue the following command, please help me, thanks.
Code:
[root@localhost john]# yum update
..........................
---> Package yum.noarch 0:3.4.3-48.fc18 will be updated
---> Package yum.noarch 0:3.4.3-49.fc18 will be an update
---> Package yum-utils.noarc
I have an TV screen which I would like to attach to my laptop with the right resolution. Just because this is basic stuff I searched and found a lot about the xorg.conf file, modelines and so on.
My Screen has a resolution of 1920 to 1080 pixels and I created this xorg.conf
But in the nvidia settings no trace of this resolution appears.
What is wrong about this? Any Ideas?
My office PC is offline, so I download updates/12/x86_64/{drpms,repodata} from fedora reposiroty to my home PC then copying them to my office PC's ftp server. Then I use yum to update from my own repository server.
But I found the drpms are not enough to perform a complete updating. Some *.rpm pakage are still need download.
I am fairly new to Fedora, and Linux in general. There may be an easy solution to this, but I am not quite certain. How can I disable my Fedora machine from automatically updating the grub and kernel. I have a Windows 7 and Fedora boot option, however additional entries get placed after the updating, essentially messing up the entire order of the grub.
Since last few days i was using fedora 15 without any issue. But after updating fedora 15 using yum update command.
Here is the screen shot
How to fix this issue, is there any missing package ?
THanks
Hi every one i wanted to change screen resolution manually from xorg.conf and apparently a missed it up and my fedora core stucks and wont start, how can i start fedora in command line (so that i can remove xorg.conf), i tryed ctrl+alt+f1, ctrl+alt+backspace and still cant start in command prompt, i appreciate any help
Hi All,
The monitor I have is a iiyama ProLite 82274HDS. The resolution of the display has according to fedora 17 a maximum of 1280x1024. It can't be changed in a higher value.
With Windows 7 it operates in resoluton style 1920x1080 without any problems.
m on a Fedora 12 box, and it's my job to do some custom configs to xorg.conf. To start this, I have to remove a bunch of devices' entries and modify others. We're using the proprietary Nvidia drivers, and they work fine except that something - perhaps the NVIDIA X Server Settings app - keeps modifying the xorg.conf.
