I rooted my phone by odin method . Flashing clockwork mod recovery over stock recovery . And somehow I was able to install Superuser.
But now when I try to reboot in recovery it takes me to stock recovery mode not custom recovery.
I tried both recovery and they work for a while and after some time they dont.
Why is this happening ?
Su is working fine and I m on UVLH2 .
Background: I am still on ICS 4.0.4 rooted and unlocked (atleast ez unlock says im unlocked and i have superuser and voodoo says im still rooted) .
However, when I try to flash a custom recovery , ROM manager gets stuck at 100 % and closes. I have also tried installing a custom recovery via EZ recovery, and it says its flashed.
Hey Guys, I've been trying to load a custom recovery onto my One for all of the nandroid-y goodness but have encountered an issue.
I had CM10 M2 on my Verizon GS3 for a week until my efs files were deleted. Went through a whole process restoring the IMEI, etc.
Now I'm trying to root and install CM10 again. I followed the instruction as usual.
i have just unllocked and rooted my nexus 7 and installed twrp recovery and i have deleted some system file now i got stock in a boot loop,i cant saeem to get to custom recovery and tried vol up+down Power and i got option start, reboot bootloader ,power off and recovery, anyway to revieve my tablet? anyone please
I have done this a number of times and I know it works. I got a new phone GS3-T999. I want to insatll CWM and add a custom ROM. I go to Odin, I find my CWM.tar file, I run it and the phone reboots. NO Custom recovery, but stock recovery
The custom binary counter shows 3 (cause I ran it three times BECAUSE IT WASN'T WORKING)...
What Is ClockworkMod Recovery And How To Use It On Android
ClockworkMod also known as Clockwork or CWM is a custom recovery for Android phones and tablets that allows you to perform several advanced recovery, restoration, installation and maintenance operations on your Android device that arent possible with the stock recovery.
I was a veteran iPhone jailbreaker before I fell in love with Android. Now, I am wondering about rooting my Android device. I googled around, but couldn't find a solid answer to this question: If I install a custom ROM and recovery, is there any way I can revert BOTH (I know I will be able to revert to stock ROM if I have a Nandroid backup I think).
With all this OTA talk, I've been getting many questions about accepting and OTA while stock rooted.
IF you are stock rooted, you can't get an OTA update because you most likely have a custom recovery installed (Clockworkmod).
To accept this OTA, you will need to install the STOCK recovery.
