Hi, I installed a bunch of gnome 3 themes in Fedora 17 via yum, but they aren't showing anywhere when I start gnome-tweak-tool.
Why is this broken?
these are the themes:
yum install zukitwo-gtk3-theme adwaita-gtk3-theme albatross-gtk3-theme bluebird-gtk3-theme egtk-gtk3-theme greybird-gtk3-theme light-gtk3-theme zukini-gtk3-theme zukiwi-gtk3-theme

After installed gnome-shell session on Ubuntu 12.04, you may be interested to try out a few themes on your desktop, and this simple tutorial will show you how to do it.
Preparation:
Apart from ensuring you actually have gnome-shell installed, the first thing need to do is installing gnome-tweak-tool and gnome-shell-extensions-user-theme.

I am using GNOME 3 and have configured an X cursor theme using gnome-tweak-tool. However, the default X cursor theme shows whenever I have the cursor inside a Java or Qt application. Gtk2/Gtk3 applications all use the correct cursor. How do I configure the X cursor to be used for Qt or Java applications?

Half-left has designed yet another great theme for Gnome Shell. His latest theme is based on the look of Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin and it looks really beautiful.
Download Ubuntu Precise Pangolin Gnome Shell Theme
Instructions
Use User Theme Extension and Gnome Tweak Tool to switch Gnome Shell themes. Gnome Tweak Tool can be installed from Ubuntu Software Center.
reNIX is a beautiful GTK3 theme inspired by Android. The theme is compatible with latest Unity and Gnome Shell and comes with a squared metacity theme.

I switched from Unity to Gnome 3.4 but I'd like to tweak my desktop a bit. I want to use a gnome shell theme but the gnome tweak tool won't allow me to modify the gnome shell themes. I've read somewhere that if I reinstall the gnome-shell then it would conflict with Unity and I wouldn't be able to safely use Unity anymore. Is there a way to change the theme without reinstalling the gnome-shell?
I'm experiencing some problems with Ubuntu Gnome Remix 12.10 64bits.
My gnome-tweak-tool doesn't apply themes properly. For the gkt themes, I noted that they are not fully applied. For example, I select Elementary's gtk theme and the window's border (metacity?) still with Adwaita. The theme also looks weird, what led me to believe that there was some engine missing, but that wasn't the case.
I would just like to set a custom cursor theme on my computer. I had this pack back on 10.10 from here. http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php?content=50663. But I can't seem to recall how I did it. I've tried just about everything. I've installed the Gnome Tweak Tool and tried to set it, now it works only a little bit here and there.
I'm using the Oxygen Desktop Theme, and my Wallpaper is a solid blue/green color. I want to keep things simple and clean. I do have selective desktop effects enabled.
