I need to install Kubuntu LTS version on x86 notebook. Current version is numbered 12.04.1. Unfortunately my internet connection is somewhat limited so I can download max. 1 GB per month. Now what are my options? I checked this web page:
http://releases.ubuntu.com/precise/
On the bottom of the page is directory listing. Most ISO images have size ~700 MB.
The new version of my favorite programming software for Linux has been released. The Gambas 2 version 2.21.0 is available for download. This new version of Gambas brings a lot of improvements and now works well on Ubuntu Lucid Lynx.
Ubuntu 11.10 final version is out now.
After SUN Microsystem was acquisited by ORACLE, the OpenOfficeOrg developers create a new fork of OpenOfficeOrg. Its LibreOffice 3. Even it still in Beta version, LibreOffice is usable, has almost the same features and user interface with OpenOfficeOrg. Here, you will find how to install LibreOffice 3 on Ubuntu 10.10.
What have I done wrong?
I have installed Oneiric on my iMac G4 PPC Lamp Model and I have attached the picture of my awfully
weird colors I experience with gui.
I use this code to get to the desktop, if I don't, I get a white screen after second yaboot prompt:
Code:
Linux nouveau.modset=0
Thank you, if you need anymore info about my computer, ask me please!

Hi, My name is Joel and im new to this Forum.
I am considering purchasing an iMac 27-inch for my web development business; of course, linux-compatibility is a major issue for me. I know that Linux has been run successfully on various models of the iMac, including the 27 inch version, but of late it seems that the Linux graphic driver universe is going through a tough time.
I put on Lion on my mac ... a biiiiiiiig mistake. The machine is only 1yr
old and Lion just crashes, hangs up more than windows 98. Wonderful. I lost
one of the install disks for the os before Snow Leopard and the snow leopard disk
was an upgrade and with Lion on it, wouldn't work anyway ...so left without a
usable operating system.
hello, I'm very new to Ubuntu as well as linux. But I recently switched to linux because I was sick of windows ********. My computer ran fine for a week than slowed right down. no matter what protection you have your almost gauranteed to get something nasty. Anyway about my current situation. I installed ubuntu from my USB. I did the correct steps and Ubuntu started up great.
